My adventures in writing…

This morning, my co-writer for Riot Grrrl the Anti-Musical, Nicolette, and I are being interviewed about our Breaking The Grrrl zine by Jen Weinstein, the host of The Midlife Edit podcast.

The first issue of our zine was released on March 1, and seemed to be a hit. Which is exciting. And the popularity of our musical, err–anti-musical, is increasing by the week. We are gaining more followers on Instagram, getting quite a few submissions for the zine, and now someone wants to interview us.

EEEEEP!

I have also been working more on the novel, which I’m still trying to finalize a title for, and have been going back through it to make sure the story is flowing smoothly. I realized I had revealed a plot secret too soon, so I had to go back and turn it into a question/mystery, which then required some rewrites in the following scenes, but it was no big deal. But while I was in the middle of all this, I thought, why not go on ChatGPT and create an image of my FMC & MMC?

Yeah, yeah, I know Gen Z and Gen Alpha are all anti-AI, and I’m not really sure how Millennials feel about it, but as a Gen-Xer, I thought it was kind of fun to see how AI interpreted my instructions on how to create Willa and Oliver. Here’s what it gave me:

It’s far from perfect, of course, as Willa seems to be missing a left forefinger, her eyes are supposed to be a dark chocolate brown, and Oliver’s eyes are supposed to be a dark gray-blue, and it kind of looks a lot like a piece of fan art. But I kind of like it.

Until next time…
